Norway then Canada is nonsense

Over the last month, I have watched with some dismay as a proposal called “Norway then Canada”, or “Norway for now”, has been promoted by MPs across the political divide.

This proposal is in fact a rebranding of the exact same idea pushed by the Remain campaign in the spring, which means temporarily or permanently joining the EFTA (the European Free Trade Association, of which Norway is member).

This proposes to the British people, and to their representatives, that joining the EFTA for a while will get you to Canada, or more exactly to a “Canada-plus” trade agreement with the EU.
